How Would Article 29 protect Concord Center?
Article 29, which was unanimously submitted by the Planning Board to Town Meeting, would extend the protections of the existing West Concord Center Formula Business Bylaw (FBB) to historic Concord Center’s business district.
This would limit the number of formula businesses to 12 in historic Concord Center (currently there are 10). In the West Concord business and village districts the total limit is 10 (currently there are 7).
The bylaw also requires a formula business applicant to apply for a special permit before establishing, expanding, or relocating within the districts. Existing formula businesses would be unaffected by the bylaw, unless they were to expand or relocate.
There are no size limits (square footage or otherwise) in the Formula Business Bylaw.
